Orleanys Del Carmen, DDS
Early on, I realized that my passion for service and health related fields were two paths I was destined to take. As a dental professional for over 10 years, I consider dentistry to be a career that has allowed me to nurture and bring together both of these passions.
After completing my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Loyola University in Chicago, I wanted to return to my roots and moved to the Dominican Republic, where I studied dentistry at Universidad Iberoamericana, graduating with honors as Doctor in Dental Surgery. Upon my return to the United States, I worked as a Surgical Dental Assistant while preparing to enter the international Dentistry Program at the University of Illinois, Chicago, where I obtained the Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS)
I am a firm believer in life-long learning. I know that in order to stay ahead in this- or any professional field – one must continue studying, learning and growing; that is why I am committed to, and actively participate in, ongoing continuing education; through hands-on courses and study clubs both locally and abroad.
My philosophy of dentistry includes considering the patient an integral part of the decision making process in the dental experience; from the time the patient schedules his/her first appointment to the creation and completion of the treatment plan and ongoing dental health. This approach provides enormous satisfaction for both the patient and I.
While dentistry and service are my passions, I also love to sing and spend time with family! I participate in solo and choral performances whenever possible. I am married to a loving husband and I am a mother to a beautiful baby girl.
